Parmer County Commissioners reinstated a county-wide burn ban effective November 27, 2017. The burn ban shall remain in effect for 90 days or until rescinded by the Court. Those who wish to burn during the ban may do so only when wind speeds are less than 10 mph, and then only after notifying the Sheriff’s Office and local fire departments. Please understand that the Sheriff’s Office and local fire departments do not grant permission to burn. Rather, you are required to notify them prior to commencing a burn. Failure to abide by the terms of the ban could lead to Class C Misdemeanor charges .
